going to be another busy day!

have to pick up some stuff i'm gonna need on my own, like a blow dryer and a flat iron and all sorts of hair stuff! good thing i have a hairdresser sister or i'd forget all this stuff!  

also, have a million homeworks to do tonight.  i hate you, homeworks.  D:<

busy!

back again, after another annoyingly busy day yesterday!  sigh!!  my only goal for yesterday was a tiff nap, but no tiff nap was had, so i just slept in extra late today.  :P

had our weigh-in, lost another 1.6 pounds!  i'm still a little behind everyone else, but i'm not discouraged, as long as i lose a pound a week, that's 52 pounds in a year!  so i'm still going!

i was so tired yesterday though, and my poor feetsies were about to die!  grocery shopping for hours, standing in line, and then treadmill time.  then a shower and MORE shopping time!  i was soooo tired.  D:  today is going to be a packing day, just a few more days till i move in with chris!  i'm so excited!  :D

free cookie day!?

sorry i didn't blog yesterday!  busy busy busy!  i'm moving i less than a week, there's so much to do!  spent yesterday with my dude, had to run to the post office on bugglette's business, took a walk in the park (so tired of the treadmill, it was a nice change!), stopped by target to pick up a three barrel curling iron (also known to me as a crimper, only round) since i couldn't find one anywhere else and then lunch.

now, let me tell you a lunch story!

after target, chris was getting hungry.  he's not a breakfast person, so while i had eaten a meal already today he had eaten a fiber one bar.  so i can see how after all the walking (30 minutes in the park and then about 45 minutes in target) he was pretty rumbly.  so we decided on subway.  doesn't seem like a bad choice, really.

when we got in, chris covered up a sign with his arms and told me not to look.  when i finally got to see it, it was an ad for the new raspberry cheesecake cookie.  and i was like, 'i got this.  i don't need a cookie.'  didn't even want or crave a cookie.  got me a six inch sub and some soup, got to the register and guess what?

FREE COOKIE DAY.

i bet the lady was freaked out by use, i bet our eyes got all big at the thought of free cookie.  we took the cookies, chris was saving his (since he has plenty of points to have a cookie) but i was going to save mine for bug.  after eating my meal, i realized i couldn't ignore it's raspberry deliciousness anymore.  D:  

so because of that six point cookie, i used up all my points yesterday. still didn't go over, but had nothing left.  D:  and lunch wasn't very filling, so i stuffed all my points in my face for dinner and then had a massive tummy ache.  double D:.

a crafty day!

sorry no post yesterday!  it's super sucks not having my own computer.  damn those internet viruses!  i'll spend most of my time later putting up new hair bows on bugglette's, there's like a million of them!  i guess i should be glad i have dad's laptop, or nothing would ever get updated, but still. . .

more about our weigh-in.

none of us had a great weigh in yesterday.  mom was down 1 pound, mandy totally maintained and i gained a little less than half a pound.  here is what i think happened to us this week.

we felt awesome.  we felt we were doing totally great and that we deserved some reward.  our reward was eating a bunch of stuff we couldn't count.  not even really that we pigged out, but that we ate out and couldn't measure our portions and we went without finding out points before hand.  

i didn't want to know the points that me and chris were going to consume on our anniversary, because i knew they would be bad, but i didn't think they'd be bad enough to ruin my week like they did.  we all went out with chris' parents (it was the first time my family had met them) and even though we didn't eat a lot we had no idea of the values of what we were eating.  so even though it wasn't a lot of food, it may have been more fatty than we had thought.

the chinese buffet yesterday was just a bad idea.  i don't even like chinese food, so i won't be sad if we don't go again.

anyway, it's not failure it's feedback.  as long as we learned something from it we are better off than we were before!

weigh-in yesterday.

so had a sort of bad day yesterday.  i guess sort of a bad week.  went to weigh-in yesterday and gained .4.  which is less than half a pound.  i know it's because of our little celebration time, but i was on that treadmill so much i though i could prevent it.  sigh.

then yesterday for lunch somebody (i think it may have been mom, actually) decided on the chinese buffet.  now, i don't even like chinese food, so i didn't eat too much, but it's all so high in point!  mandy said her meal was probably about 50 points, the lo mein alone was like 14 (luckily had i had no noodle-y dishes).  i had lots of little bites of random meats and chickens and then about half a scoop of white rice.  hopefully not too bad, but just to be on the safe side i ate fruit the rest of the day.  then pretty much just crashed.

i did still treadmill, though, and i looked it up in the pocket book and i actually haven't been giving myself enough points for it, should be 4 instead of 2.

but today is a new day.  had some breakfast and off to treadmill here in a bit, then work at 5:30.

a weigh-in day!

i've been out and about all day, so you just get one big post instead of a bunch of updates!

today was our second weigh-in, and i lost another 3 lbs!  yay!  that means i got a sticker.  and yes, i am proud of my sticker.  :B  i give all credit to the treadmill, and will just have to get used to the idea that i lose more weight by moving!  after weigh-in we bought some more delicious groceries ran some errands and got some tasty taco bell, then i got dropped off at work.  spent most of work pacing and folding shirts.  though i did buy myself an uber cute headband to wear on valentine's day (also know as mine and chris's second anniversary)!

i do want to point out on the taco bell outing, i was feeling awesome and i had the points, so i got a tasty chicken quesadilla and a taco.  it totaled like, 17 pts.  but after i finished my yummy chicken and cheese-y goodness, i was full!  i used to eat two of them and a taco when i would go!  and after just that one, i was full!  i guess i was more conscious about eating it.  i knew it was a lot of points and i wouldn't have another one for a while, so i savored every little bite and it was the best quesadilla ever!

oats. :D

so i just learned that you can make oats delicious with the addition of peanut butter and bananas.  it's the only way (as far as i know)!  yesterday, i made the exact same packet of oats, they were maple and brown sugar to be exact, and they tasted like nothing!  they smelled delicious, but tasted like the tap water i'd used to make them!  gross!  i dumped them out and that's why i ate that leftover steak for breakfast yesterday.  D:

i'm kinda rounding that figure, cuz i didn't use a full cup of milk (which is two points) but used more that a half a cup (which is one point).  and i hate counting half points.  oh, well.  i'm treadmill-ing today anyway, so if i didn't need to count that extra point i'm gonna get it back anyway.  :D

it's 1:30 and i just got done backing cookies!  Here's the recipe if you're interested.  they look really tasty.

but their actually only alright.  they have applesauce in the recipe, it does make them nice and soft but it also makes them taste like apples and chocolate and i don't know if i'm a fan of that.  and they're 1 pt per cookie, which doesn't seem bad but they're pretty tiny.  you can put the whole thing in your mouth and chomp it.  so i dunno.  prefer the meringue cookies.

packing day!

well, just one of many packing days.  but if i can pack up the little stuff then after my last day of work i can start cleaning up the big stuff!  i have so many little figurines, though, and i'm trying to dust them before i pack them up so i don't have to do it later, but it's taking forever!

on a side note that is actually diet related (since this is the food blog), i hope that it's easier to plan meals when it's just me and chris cooking.  i had an awesome breakfast plan for this morning, but didn't take into consideration that there are other people who wake up before me and who may also be hungry for the last three eggs.  so instead of steak and eggs, i just had the leftover steak.  D:

did you see me earn back a point!?  every 30 minutes of moderate exercise earns you two points!  i started trying to walk on the treadmill at the very beginning of the year and i could literally only go 10 minutes before i though my heart would pop!  i did fifteen today with no problem!  and i don't feel tired, i feel really good!  i'm gonna challenge bug to wii sword fighting!

(i could have actually gone longer on the treadmill, but i really had to pee!  that might be too much info for you, but it's true!)

totally kicked ass at sword fighting.  even if my opponent was a six-year old.

baking day!

just put in another batch of meringue cookies!  they are so good, nice and sweet and you don't have to feel bad about them!  

today i made a batch of vanilla and experimented and made a batch of maple.  they smell just like maple nut goodies!  it will be a nice taste of the pancakes that we can't have (even though i'd much rather have a waffle, but those are kinda off limits, too).

i know it's hard to tell, but these are
full of maple-y goodness!

so on to tracking.  i was pretty proud of my breakfast today, it tasted just like a meats scramble from denny's (only without the sausage, but i hate the sausage anyway!).

was pretty tasty.  one of those points is also from the olive oil i cooked it in.  just about a teaspoon in the pan, but i think that's enough to count.

snow day!

usually a nice snowy day would make me want to curl up with a pack of cookies and then take a nap!  so today i'm trying to keep busy!

we've already been to walmart, picked out bug some cute new glasses (since hers have gone 'missing'), and had a tasty sandwich lunch!  since lunch i've been crocheting an awesome bear headband.  for realsies.

so on to the tracking!

a shopping journey!

yesterday was an odd sort of day, much as i expected it to be.  chris was going to judge a tiny tournament, but when we got there they didn't need him.  we chilled for a little bit and ate our tasty subway lunch then headed down the street to the mall (and you know i love a mall)!  i really thought that all the running around would cause both of us to go over out points budget, but luckily we survived and both had a couple of points left over!  

that chicken dinner we had last night was actually supposed to be fajitas, but at the last minute both of us decided that the tortilla wasn't worth the 4 pts and we left it off.

grocery shopping (and tracking)!

chris and i went grocery shopping at the walmart last night.  we had a list, and i think having a list kept us from buying junk.  it was all good stuff, and the things that weren't necessarily good stuff (like the marshmallow creme)  had their points checked before we bought them (only 1 pt for 2 tablespoons).  got a bunch of tasty weight watchers meals, some yogurts and even 4 pt ice creams!  yay!

i did snack on a slim jim, but turns out they're only 4 pts.  i personally find anything under 5 points to be an acceptable snack.  and it was yum.  :D

i was so excited to be grocery shopping with chris!  i can't wait until we're in our own place buying our own food.  not too long now, though!

felt pretty good after my weigh-in!  i was momentarily disappointed, but again, for five days of work that two pounds is pretty good.  :D

weigh-in and meringue cookies!

our first weigh in since joining was today.  technically we've only been doing weight watchers for five days (joined on a friday, decided to wait until the beginning of the week) but we're doing awesome!  i lost 2.2 pounds, which is more then i've ever lost while really not doing much of anything!  mandy (the bitch) lost eight pounds and got a special sticker.

i didn't get a sticker.  D:

oh well.  i'm not discouraged at all, that's still two pounds that i was carrying around five days ago!  and at out next weigh-in we'll have a whole week behind us, so i think we'll all do great!

i celebrated with a new wallet and some super sale hello kitty christmas ornaments for when chris and i have our own tree.  :D

we also had celebratory taco bell.  don't worry, we were still counting!  it was awesome, and i knew we could do it if we all stuck together.

right now i have some tasty looking meringue cookies in the oven.  i saw the recipe in the little weekly flier thing, and knew i could do it!  they have to bake for a million hours, i'll update you on their status as they progress.

the chocolate ones taste just like cocoa puffs, it's awesome!  and the vanilla is delicious!  i wanna make some more but mom told me no (even though they're only half a point each).

day 4 tracking.

tryin' to have breakfast and lunch before work.  is it gonna happen?  maybe.  but probably not.

breakfast:
peaches (in light syrup):  2 pts
weight watchers white chocolate yogurt:  2 pts

lunch:
leftover alfredo with chicken:  13 pts

snack:
chocolate chip muffin:  4 pts
water:  0 pts
vitamin water zero:  0 pts

dinner:
small steak:  7 pts
baked potato w/ butter and cheese:  5 pts
corn:  2 pts

snack:
granola bar:  3 pts

random hunger:
lean cuisine spaghetti and meatballs (plus tiny splash of weight watchers cheese):  9 pts.

went over by one today.  D:  i just wanted something hot to eat.

if you read the previous blog from this morning, you'll know this is definitely not what we had planned to eat, but i just couldn't eat that sandwich.  D:

side potato note:  our pocket guide says a medium baked potato is five points.  if i calculate the nutrition info on the bag of potatoes, one potato is three points.  but the bag also doesn't take into consideration if it's a tiny potato or a super potato.  i guess i should question somebody about that.

full for the day, but negative 1 point.

edit:  maybe not?  i put it in my tracker and was at exactly zero, unless i missed a point.  not sure.

breakfast owies.

so, after yesterday when i didn't have time for breakfast and lunch before work, i tried to get early to them in.  i got up at ten (have to be to work at 1), still not really a lot of time, but everything is already made (premade breakfast last night and was gonna lunch some dinner leftovers) so i figured it would be alright.

last night we made some scrambled eggs with turkey sausage and put it in the fridge for breakfast, put in on some toast with some cheese.  i put the whole thing together, and as i'm looking at this sandwich my tummy is like 'noooooooooooo!'  i picked it up like i was gonna eat it.  my tummy was all 'grumblegrumblenoooooooo'.

mandy told mom in the car this morning that she was gonna puke.

normally, i'm just not a breakfast person.  i'm trying to get up early and do better, but it's just hard to make myself eat right when i get up.  it's easier when i just wake up when i want to eat food, but when that alarm goes off and i try to get up, my brain is just like, i'm tired and not hungry.  i dunno.

gonna try some peaches instead and see how that makes my tummy feel.  maybe i'm just a light breakfast girl.

not early enough. D:

so, i have to be to work at one.  sigh.

i tried to get up at ten, but when i thought about it some more, i'd have had to get up at about 8:30 or 9 to fit in breakfast and lunch.  and if you know me, you know that's just not happening.  decided to sleep in a little, had a less-than-one minute conversation with my dude ('i'm going to work, i love you.'  'i love you, have fun at work, bye.') and measured me out a tasty breakfast.

breakfast:
special k vanilla almond (2 servings, w/ 1 cup fat free milk):  4 pts
banana:  0 pts

may have some coffee in a minute, haven't decided yet.

snacks:
weight watchers blueberry muffin (at work):  5 pts.
chocolate chip muffin (at home):  4 pts
peanut butter chocolate granola bar:  3 pts
since i didn't get to have lunch, i've had a collection of snacks.

dinner:
weight watchers recipe chicken alfredo with garlic toast and corn:  20 pts

snack:

more learning. :3

today was a little different from yesterday.  as of the time i write this blog, i have seven points left as opposed to the nine i had left last night.  and i actually think i might eat them laters.

basically, we had bigger meals.  yesterday we were hoarding our points because we weren't sure about how the first day would pan out.  since we ate and we weren't hungry, we didn't eat all of our points like we should have and had extra at the end of the night.

i stopped by the store today to ask about the price of the notebooks (i did get one, only six bucks for a three month diary) and she talked to me for a few minutes.  everyone who works for weight watchers has done the plan and lost the weight, it's nice because that makes them more likely to care about what you're doing.  she asked about how it was going for me since we had just started.  i told her about my extra points and how i was trying to eat them, and she told me that it's pretty normal and that most people hoard their points in the beginning.  she told me to try to use all the points, but not to force myself to eat them if i'm absolutely not hungry.  so i feel a little better about it today.  :D

i noticed today that if i'm in a rush to eat something, i don't get nearly as much joy out of it.  i had a glasses emergency at work today and had to run to lenscrafters on my ten-minute break to fix it.  as i'm pretty much jogging down the hall i was stuffing my face with what is usually a totally delicious peanut butter chocolate quaker chewy granola bar.  i didn't even taste it.  the only taste i had of it was the very last bite i was trying to chew up outside of lenscrafters so i didn't have to talk to the lady with my mouth full.  D:

mandy and i had actually learned that on a weight loss show we watched a few years ago, about how if you eat more slowly and enjoy it more you're less likely to overeat.  if i had gotten to sit down and eat my delicious granola treat i may not have been so starving when i got home.  D:

oh well.  still a good day.  gonna go have me some music time then finish my homework for the night.

2 tomato and mozzarella sandwiches (the same from lunch):  13 pts

midnight snack/meal:
weight watchers meal, ravioli florentine:  6 pts

random dinner note:  i added an extra point for the olive oil i sprayed on the bread.  i didn't count on lunch because it was only like 2 or 3 sprays, but it was more for 2 sandwiches so i counted it.

total remaining:  1

note:  i am so proud of my little lunch!  you have to understand, i do not cook.  hardly ever.  in fact it was previously decided that chris would cook and i would do dishes.  :P  

i don't know, it probably sounds silly, but i really am proud that i was able to make a decent lunch for me and mandy.  my domestic skills are improving now that i have to do them!

findings for day 1.

so, what have i learned today?

well, i went into this diet like all other diets, i assumed that i'd be hungry all day long.  i thought i'd be running out of points and be struggling to find the tiniest amount of points to eat so that i'd have some left at the end of the night in case of hunger pains.

as of right now i still have nine points left.  so, i actually didn't eat enough today.  looking back at what i've eaten today i should have had bigger meals.  i only had 2 points for breakfast, the stuff we had to read actually recommended breakfast to be about 8 pts, so i should have had some more tasty breakfast noms!  i could have had some tasty cheese on my scrambled eggs, maybe even a nice slice of toast!

for lunch, we're recommended about 14 pts, i only had 9.  dinner should be about 16 points and i only had 11.  most people would be like 'yeah, less food less fat!', but really undereating affects your metabolism just as much as overeating.  if you looked at my tracking blog you'll notice after dinner i started stuffing my face because i still had 18 points left for the day, and i tried to use them up but i'm just not hungry anymore.  D:

i'll try again tomorrow with bigger meals, hopefully that will help me even out my points so i don't have this giant surplus at the end of the night.  after all, it's only day one so it's still a work in progress.  i didn't at all have a bad day, but i've still felt like a piggy eating all these snacks!  i know it's okay to eat them because i still have the points, but still.  piggy central.

tomorrow mandy and i are getting up early to make sure we have a good breakfast and lunch before we have to go to work.  should be tasty and awesome.
